Message Summary

Genesis 26 reminds us that walking by faith does not mean life will be easy. Isaac faced famine, fear, opposition, and the tedious work of digging wells again and again. Yet God remained faithful. Faith refused to let circumstances rewrite what God has revealed, refuses to let fear lead, and keeps doing what is right. We may not understand what God is doing, but a faithful God never wastes the hardships of His children.

Consider This Week

  1. Where do your present circumstances make it difficult to trust what God has said? What promise or truth about God do you need to believe right now?
  2. What does your fear reveal that you may be struggling to believe about God? How might fear be tempting you toward disobedience?
  3. Where has faithfulness begin to feel tedious or unnoticed? What ordinary work has God placed in front of you that you simply need to keep doing?
  4. Isaac did not have to win every battle because he could trust God's provision. Is there a criticism, wrong impression, or conflict you need to entrust to God rather than trying to control?
  5. Where can you see God's undeserved goodness? As you give thanks for His daily provision, how does it point you to His greatest provision--Jesus Christ and the salvation we could never earn?
